Running the fastest marathon in a suit (and winning it)

Running the fastest marathon in a suit (and winning it)

Can you win a marathon while looking amazing in a suit?

In 2023, at the H.C. Andersen Marathon in Odense, Martin Egebjerg Olesen proved you can – crossing the finish line first in our Perfect Suit.

His time? 2 hours, 27 minutes, and 58 seconds. That’s faster than the standing record for running a marathon in a suit. Oh, and he also won the entire race.

The ultimate stress test – for a runner and a suit

The September heat made it a tough race, but the suit held up impressively throughout the 42.2 kilometers — a true stress test for both fabric and runner. The crowd loved it. The atmosphere in Odense was electric, with cheers that rivaled Martin’s national championship win two years earlier.

More than a stunt

Was this about breaking an official record? Not really. It was about proving a point. At SHAPING NEW TOMORROW, we’ve always believed clothes should do more than just look good. They should perform. They should adapt. They should move with you — whether you’re running a company, racing across the city, or, in this case, winning a marathon.

The Perfect Suit may have been designed for the everyday, but Odense proved it can handle much more. And to us, that’s the real victory.
